I love summer for many reasons, but I think my absolute favorite thing about summer are the flea markets! I have been “junkin” for about 8 years now and just can’t get enough! I’ve traveled all over for these markets, both in and out-of-state, and it’s an adrenaline rush every time. I swear I’m actually giddy driving there! Even if I’m not in looking for a particular item, I just love looking at all of the old things and wonder what history lies beneath! If I do by chance find something that catches my fancy, which is pretty much every time I go, it’s fun to go home and find the perfect use for it in my home.
This past trip to the market, happened to be on the Fourth of July, and believe it or not, the place was packed with my fellow market lovers. We come out in the rain, shine, and holidays! So on this last trip antiquing or junking, if you will, I was looking for a really cool item to give as a gift, don’t know why I never thought to do that before, but it turned out to be a great idea! You will see in my next post, a very special piece of history that I found for a very special friend!
If you haven’t been to a flea/antique market before, you must go, they’re so fun, but don’t blame me if you get addicted!
Check out these pics of my latest flea market trip!
One of my latest finds, is in this pic. Can’t wait to show you all the ideas I have for this little beauty!
It’s a really cool, metal turquoise retro bar cart! So fun, and it only cost me $30 (I’ve become a really good negotiator btw. Stay tuned in a couple of posts, for an up close view and some fun ways that I’ve put it to use!
I love vintage and antique things, because they are never perfect and have a lifetime of memories and stories behind them, much like people!
